We’re proud to announce that Hardball: Three Strikes, Not Out has received four Telly Awards, recognizing the powerful storytelling behind Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tejay Antone’s comeback journey after three Tommy John surgeries.
As lifelong Cincinnati Reds fans, this project meant even more to our team at Holland Adhaus. Getting the opportunity to help film and edit Tejay’s recovery journey was something special — not just because of the baseball connection, but because of the heart behind the story itself.
Hardball: Three Strikes, Not Out is ultimately a story about resilience, grit, perseverance, and fighting your way back when the odds are stacked against you.
And now, we’re excited to see the series recognized with four Telly Awards:
- Gold — Series: Sports
- Silver — Campaign: Non-Scripted & Documentary
- Silver — Series: Motivational & Advice
- Bronze — Series: Documentary
The recognition comes at an especially exciting time, with Tejay recently earning his call-up back to the Major Leagues just weeks ago, making the story feel even more full circle.
A Story Bigger Than Baseball
Produced in partnership with Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, the documentary series gives viewers an honest and emotional look inside the physical and mental challenges of recovery at the professional level.
From surgery and rehabilitation to setbacks and small victories, the series captures the reality behind what athletes endure away from the spotlight. But even for people who aren’t baseball fans, the message resonates universally: keep showing up, keep fighting, and don’t let setbacks define your story.
Bringing the Story to Life
At Holland Adhaus, we were honored to support the project through filming, editing, post-production, sound design, motion graphics, and visual storytelling.
Our goal wasn’t simply to document a recovery process. It was to help tell a human story in a way that felt authentic, emotional, and inspiring — while also helping Beacon Orthopaedics connect more deeply with the communities and athletes they serve.
Every edit, music cue, interview moment, and visual decision was intentional. We wanted viewers to feel the frustration, hope, uncertainty, and determination that defined Tejay’s journey.
Honored to Be Part of It
Winning a Telly Award last year for the series was already an incredible honor. To now see Hardball: Three Strikes, Not Out recognized with four additional Telly Awards is something our entire team is deeply grateful for.
Huge congratulations to Tejay, Beacon Orthopaedics, Boonrise, and everyone involved in bringing this story to life.
And of course…
Let’s go, Reds. ⚾
